People. Planet. Profit.

At Insight, the way we do business is just as important as the work we deliver. We want to be make an impact – not just with the videos, events and comms we produce, but for the way we nurture people, communities and our environment.

That’s why, for us, sustainability is so much more than a buzz word or a box to tick. It’s right at the heart of everything we do – an ongoing commitment to do business responsibly and ethically, minimising our impact and supporting a fairer, greener world.

And it’s why we’re committed to constantly delivering on that all-important triple bottom line – people, planet and profit. Here’s how we’re making it happen…

People.

For us, sustainability means growing our business in a responsible way – nurturing a talented, diverse team, creating inclusive workspaces and contributing to a healthy, robust local community.

That’s why we’re committed to providing equitable opportunities, including training and placements for young people and adult learners. We’re a Disability Confident Committed Employer, affiliated to Step 2 Skills and the Hertfordshire Opportunities Portal.

We’re also passionate about making Insight a place people love to work, so we offer a real living wage, flexible hours and the health and wellbeing support our team needs to thrive.

Planet.

When it comes to protecting the planet, we’re stepping up. We’re digging deep to understand the impact we have on the environment, the emissions our business generates and the steps we can take to drive positive, practical change.

But that’s not all. We’re also reaching out, building partnerships and empowering other organisations to start their own sustainability journeys. Through a whole range of initiatives, commitments and collaborations, we’re more determined than ever to do the right thing and make a real, lasting difference.

Helping Herts go greener.

We believe bringing businesses together is the only way to achieve net zero, which is why we’re proud to be founding members of Herts Go Green and Grow.

The Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce initiative has grown into a community of more than 50 like-minded local organisations – sharing knowledge, making our collective voice heard and working together to make our region greener.

Along with the Chamber, JPA workspaces,KGK Genix, Net Zero International and Estu Global, we create agendas, source speakers, coordinate info flow and help to build member collaborations.

Cutting carbon emissions.

Minimising the impact we have on the planet starts with understanding it. So, we’ve been working with Net Zero International to crunch the numbers on our Scope 1 and 2 emissions and develop a measurable carbon reduction plan. We are now also exploring our Scope 3 emissions covering areas like waste reduction and our crews travel footprint.

To offset the carbon we do use, since 2021 we have been proud members of the Ecologi community, helping to plant trees and support climate positive projects around the world.

Racing to Zero together.

We’re rising to the challenge of achieving net zero by collaborating with other brilliant businesses across Hertfordshire and beyond. As part of that commitment, we’ve pledged to Race to Zero and to meet the UN’s definition of net zero by following the five Ps – Pledge, Plan, Proceed, Publish and Persuade.

You can check out our Insight climate pledge here, or read up on Race to Zero and make your own pledge here.

Even our website is green.

In our digital world, the internet is a major source of carbon emissions – a largely coal-powered machine using vast amounts of energy to run data centres, host websites, send emails and enable billions of interactions, every day.

So at Insight, we’re making sure we understand and improve the impact of our digital activities. We’re analysing the way we store files, send emails and use software, and we’ve used green web hosting to bring you this site. Check your own site statue for free, right here.

We’re making sustainability a priority because it’s the right thing to do. But we know that in the years ahead it’s also going to be crucial for business. Achieving net zero won’t just be a nice-to-have, it’ll be a vital part of winning work, hitting targets and staying competitive.

Today’s regulatory landscape is ever-changing, but while politics catches up with the problem, we believe taking small steps now is the only way to meet the challenge head on. So, we’re working with our climate partners and industry peers to drive strong, sustainable growth that enables us all to keep doing all the great things we want to do.

Fancy a climate coffee?

Protecting our planet isn’t something we can do on our own. It’s going to take genuine, ongoing collaboration. That’s why we’re always happy to get together to talk about sustainability, share our insights and help you get your own green initiatives started.

As part of our commitment to Race to Zero, we regularly meet with fellow SME business owners and leaders to talk through their challenges and help them on their own net zero journeys. So if you’d like to join us for coffee and a free climate chat, just get in touch.
