The National Farmers Union (NFU) represents more than 46,000 farming and growing businesses. Its purpose is to champion British agriculture and horticulture, to campaign for a stable and sustainable future for British farmers and to secure the best possible deal for members. It also strives to protect and promote British farm life and give its members for a voice.
We worked closely with the NFU team to develop the treatment and storyboard for the film based on the objectives, the requirement for ultra-wide screen presentation and the tight time schedules of the farmers appearing on camera.
The shoots took place outside all over the UK in January, and we had limited time to work with, around busy farm schedules, so we had to ensure our crew was well briefed and equipped to manage the weather conditions.
The NFU net zero team was looking for a video production partner to develop a high-quality film with clear messaging for its annual conference to support the launch of its sector resilience plans.
They wanted to highlight the key action points in the plans, designed to help support British farming in providing high-quality, climate-friendly food, as well as present real-life examples of the ideas being applied in the field.
The film was screened at the NFU conference in 2023 and was very well received by the audience. The NFU net zero team commissioned extra editing to tailor the film to different audiences and channels, ensuring the content has longevity beyond the event itself and maximising return on investment.
‘We were confident we would receive a high-quality output from Insight MCL. What sets them apart is their incredible service ethos. They are sharp on interpreting the brief and project management which allowed us to complete a complex project to a very tight deadline.
“Steve’s professionalism, calm manner and creativity smoothed the process, getting the best out of each shoot, whatever the conditions.’
